ABOUT
OUR WHITE BALDIES
We started the ‘White Baldies’ in response to interest from Clients in a shedding maternal composite alternative.
We were keen to lock into our White Baldies the fertility, mothering ability, growth, carcase, low worm egg counts, and moderate ewe size that we have been working so hard on in our maternal composites. Hence the majority of our base ewes have come from our maternal composite flock. We have also utilized some white Suffolk genetics to add extra growth and carcase merit.
We chose White Dorper and Ultra white genetics on the sire side to introduce shedding genetics to our programme.
2023 drop ‘White Baldie’ rams aged 7 months.
These rams will be offered on October 4th at our On-property sale.

As with our seedstock livestock enterprises we are very data driven. We are measuring birth weight, weaning weights, post weaning weights at which time they are scanned for eye muscle depth and fat. We also collect mature weights on our ewes, individual worm egg counts, pregnancy scan data, birth type and rear type and measure maternal behaviour score at lambing.
Days to debut White Baldies
The Day family from Bordertown have been breeding stud sheep for generations but proving they are always looking to the future, Lachy and Lou Day have a new addition to their annual ram sale.
We are really encouraged by our initial results and will be expanding our programme over the coming years.
